I am on a mission. A mission to rectify all the wrong I have done to my body for the past 35 years. I want to be able to say at the age of 40 that I am in the best shape of my life. I have a long way to go. I have been a smoker for 15 years. I have been a drinker for 19 years. I have been a poor eater my entire life, and I haven't done any regular exercise in over a decade. I have two children under the age of two, and very little free time to manage it all. To top it off, I am in a tight financial bind and fearful of what the future may hold.

Still, when I look toward the horizon and see my 35th birthday approaching, I am hopeful. I am certain I can manage all of it with style, and I have been blessed with the ability to set goals. Luckily I have the support of my wife and my friends. Luckily I have the support of my family and the population at large. Luckily I still have a sharp mind and a gargantuan will to succeed.

So I ask that you join me on this mission. Take a look at my life and I am sure you can find at least some parallel with your own. If so, I hope you can take away something useful from what I will be experiencing over the next five years. This is the beginning of my five year plan, and you are getting in on the ground floor. You have a front row seat to the action, and I will do my best to make it worth your time.

With that, please enjoy your day. I know I will be doing my best to do the same.
